2015 | Year in Review
As I grazed through my 2015 image catalog a few threads emerged-- I experimented a lot with bold shadows and put myself in a place to create rather than just take images. But I think the biggest impact on my work was a personal change. In January '15 I learned that I was expecting my first kiddo, due to arrive in September. With a growing baby "bump" (a term my mother despises but one that I think accurately describes the situation) I found myself viewing things through this new lens of almost-mom and then new mom. Perhaps it was the crush of hormones making me more feely or just being more in tune with things. Either way, I think that this influenced all of my photos in one way or another. The baby kicks had me up at sunrise, the idea of raising a child led to very frank conversations during my portrait sessions and don't even get me started on weddings! Too many teary moments to count. Thank you to all of my kind-hearted, wonderful clients for so many fulfilling conversations and for allowing me to capture what is most important to you. You made my 2015 a very special year.
