Alisa and William | Cousin’s Island, Maine

Alisa and William were married in Cousin’s Island, Maine a couple of weeks ago. Knowing Alisa from college days, I was looking forward to this day for a long time. When I received their beautiful letterpress invitation in the mail, my anticipation was sky-high as I knew it would be a spectacular day!

The ladies started getting ready in Portland, Maine and I was able to shoot some of the fun and details. No joke, Alisa’s flowers had to be the most exquisite I have ever seen! The oranges, greens and reds in contrast with wedding whites had me geeking out in photo land. We soon headed out to began the “official” portion of the day. Alisa and William were married in a small chapel just over the bridge in Cousin’s Island. The bagpipes, quaint setting and warm summer day made me reflect on love and life and I’m sure guests had the same feeling. Watching this couple so clearly in love, saying their vows to each other was a sweet moment.

After photos by the water, Alisa and William headed over to Camp Hammond for the reception. A short drive away, Camp Hammond is an a manor built in 1891 with grounds once landscaped by the famous Frederick Law Olmstead. Guests had cocktails and appetizers on the deck and lawn and then moved to the nearby tent for a plated dinner. Following shortly were speeches of childhood memories, beginning bands and how Alisa and William got to know each other had everyone alternating between laughter and happy tears. The night ended for me taking some fun shots in the photo booth and out on the dance floor– I can never refuse photos with props!
